Close to the A3

Being next to the A3 is handy for longer trips. Heading south, the A3 leads to the M25 for Gatwick. Heading north, it runs into London towards Wandsworth for the central stations such as Victoria. Traffic on the A3 near the Malden junction can be slow at peak times, so book with a margin when you have a train or flight to catch.

Local trips

Many of our New Malden bookings are short trips: into Kingston for shopping or the hospital, to Raynes Park or Wimbledon, or home with a big supermarket shop. A minicab is useful when buses do not go directly, such as getting from New Malden to Kingston Hill or Chessington.

Families and groups

For family days out and airport runs with lots of bags, book a 6 seater taxi. For a group heading to the tennis in Wimbledon or to a celebration meal, a 7 seater taxi takes up to seven people.

Where we pick up

We cover the KT3 postcode and around, including the High Street, the station area, Motspur Park and the roads towards Worcester Park and Norbiton. Tell us the best place to stop, especially on the High Street, where parking is limited.

Things to know when booking from New Malden

  • The High Street is narrow. There are few places for a car to stop safely, so a side-road pick-up a short walk from the shop or restaurant is often quicker.
  • The A3 junction. Traffic on and off the A3 at New Malden can queue at peak times, particularly heading towards London in the morning and back out in the evening.
  • Station pick-ups. New Malden station is on a bridge above the road, with entrances on both sides. Tell us which side you will come out.

Food, shopping and evenings out

New Malden's Korean restaurants and supermarkets draw visitors from across London, and many people come for a meal and want a car home afterwards. If you are bringing back a big shop from one of the Korean supermarkets, mention it when you book so the boot has room. Groups heading out for a celebration meal can share one larger car.

Hospital and medical trips

Kingston Hospital is a short drive from New Malden, along Kingston Road and Coombe Road. If you have an appointment, give us the department so the driver can drop you at the right entrance, and call 020 3740 4439 when you are ready to come home if you do not know your finish time.
