A King's Cross station taxi from Kingston is a good choice when you are heading north with luggage. From Kingston, the train to King's Cross means changing at Waterloo or Vauxhall and crossing London on the Underground. A pre-booked minicab takes you from your front door to the station in one journey.
Where King's Cross takes you
King's Cross is the London terminus of the East Coast Main Line, with long-distance trains to Peterborough, York, Leeds, Newcastle and Edinburgh, as well as services to Cambridge and towns in Hertfordshire. The station was restored and opened up with a new western concourse in 2012, and King's Cross Square now sits in front of the original arched frontage.
Right next door is St Pancras International, the London terminal for Eurostar. The two stations face each other across Pancras Road, so if you are travelling to Paris or Brussels, tell us it is St Pancras and you will be dropped at the right building.
The drive from Kingston
King's Cross is about 15 miles from Kingston and on the north side of central London, so this is the longest of our station runs. The route usually crosses the river and then heads through central or west London towards the Euston Road. Routes into central London can pass through the Congestion Charge zone, and all of Greater London is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone. Ask us when you book how any road charges are handled for your journey.

Tips for a smooth trip
- Leave early. Central London traffic is the least predictable part of the journey. A missed long-distance train can be expensive.
- Say which station. King's Cross and St Pancras are side by side but separate, with different entrances.
- Mention luggage. Several large cases or a ski bag may need a 6 seater.
Coming home to Kingston

Other journeys north
For trains to the North West and the Midlands, see our Euston station taxi page. Flying instead? Luton and Stansted are on the north side of London too. We take King's Cross bookings across the area, including New Malden and Wimbledon.
Eurostar from St Pancras
If you are taking the Eurostar to Paris, Brussels or Amsterdam, remember that Eurostar asks passengers to arrive well before departure for security and passport checks. Check the time on your ticket or the Eurostar website, then add the typical drive time from Kingston and a margin for central London traffic. Tell us it is St Pancras International when you book.
