A London Bridge station taxi from Kingston takes you across south London to one of the capital's busiest rail hubs, on the south bank of the Thames by The Shard. There is no simple direct train from Kingston, so a door-to-door car is often the easier option, especially with luggage or late at night.
Trains from London Bridge
London Bridge was rebuilt in the 2010s with a large street-level concourse under the platforms. Trains run to many destinations:
- Thameslink through the city to St Albans and Bedford, and south to Gatwick and Brighton.
- Southern to south London, Croydon and Sussex.
- Southeastern to south-east London and Kent.
It is also on the Jubilee and Northern lines of the Underground.
Route from Kingston
London Bridge is around 13 miles from Kingston. Drivers usually travel east through Wandsworth and south London, approaching via the Elephant and Castle side, or take the riverside route through the centre. Routes into central London can pass through the Congestion Charge zone, and all of Greater London is inside the Ultra Low Emission Zone. Ask us when you book how any road charges are handled for your journey.

More than a station
Plenty of our London Bridge bookings are not for trains at all. Borough Market, The Shard, Southwark Cathedral, the riverside walk to Tower Bridge and the offices around More London are all close to the station. If you are heading to a restaurant, an office or a hotel nearby, give us the exact address and you will be dropped at the door.
Gatwick via London Bridge?
Thameslink trains from London Bridge go to Gatwick Airport. But if you are starting in Kingston, travelling into London to then head back south is the long way round. Our fixed-price Kingston to Gatwick taxi goes direct. For flights from the east, see London City Airport.
Groups and nights out
A group of friends heading to the South Bank or Borough for the evening can share a 7 seater and book the ride home at the same time. Agree a pick-up time and meeting point, as the streets around the market and the station are busy in the evening.
Book your London Bridge journey
Book online or call 020 3740 4439. We arrange London Bridge pick-ups from across the area, including Tolworth, New Malden and Wimbledon.
Meeting someone off a train
London Bridge is large, with several entrances on different streets around the station. If you are booking a car to collect a friend or relative, agree a specific entrance and send them the details. Give us their name and mobile number so the driver can call them if needed.
Leaving London Bridge late
Trains from London Bridge to Kingston are not direct, so a late night out on the South Bank can mean a long journey home with changes. A pre-booked car avoids this. Book the return when you book the outward trip, and call us if you want to leave earlier or later.
