Rail station or coach station?
This is the most common mix-up we see. Victoria rail station and Victoria Coach Station are separate buildings a few minutes' walk apart. If you are catching a coach, especially with heavy cases, tell us so you are dropped at the coach station rather than the rail station. Check your ticket for the departure gate and arrive in good time.
Gatwick: train from Victoria or taxi from Kingston?
Some people go into Victoria to take the Gatwick Express. From Kingston that means travelling north-east into London and then back out south again. A fixed-price Kingston to Gatwick taxi takes you there directly, which is usually simpler, especially with luggage or children.
Booking tips
- Tell us your train or coach departure time when you book.
- Allow extra time on weekday mornings and Friday evenings.
- For groups or lots of luggage, book a 6 seater taxi.
Pick-ups for Victoria
We take Victoria bookings from across the area, including Kingston Vale (close to the A3), Chessington and Hampton Wick. Heading to Westminster from the other direction? See our Charing Cross page.
Arriving by coach late at night
Many international and long-distance coaches arrive at Victoria Coach Station late in the evening or very early in the morning, when public transport back to Kingston is limited. Book your pick-up in advance with the coach's expected arrival time, and call us if the coach is running late. Coaches are often delayed by motorway traffic, so we would rather hear from you than have you wait.
Luggage for coach trips
Coach passengers often travel with large cases. Tell us how many bags you have when you book, so the right size car is sent.
